Will it sound like a template?

How hard can I roast them?
Harder than at a wedding, and the guide gives you three tests for where to stop. The rule underneath all of them is to mock the pattern, not the person: a joke about a thing they reliably do is affectionate, a joke about who they are is a criticism with a laugh on it. Anything about weight, hair, money, exes, health or parenting choices comes out, even where they would take it, because the room contains people who do not know that.
